Join Missy for a little Halloween sewing magic as you create your very own Wicked Witch Hat—a fabric hat that’s equal parts costume, decoration, and excuse to dig through your stash for the most delightfully spooky fabric combination you can find.
And because every good witch hat deserves a little lore: women have been brewing and selling beer, ale, mead, and cider for centuries—the original home chemists! One popular theory links the tall, pointed hats worn by women brewers and ale sellers to imagery now associated with witches. Historical fact, folklore, or a little bit of both? Either way, we love a hat with a story.
In this workshop, Missy will guide you through constructing your hat from start to finish, including creating the classic pointed crown, shaping the brim, and assembling all the pieces. Go traditional with black and orange, embrace moody purples and jewel tones, raid your Halloween stash, or make the technicolor witch hat of your dreams. There are no rules in witchcraft—or fabric selection.

Your finished Wicked Witch Hat can be worn for Halloween festivities, perched on a pumpkin or mannequin for seasonal décor, or displayed somewhere in your sewing room where it can supervise your questionable fabric-buying decisions.

| Instructor Bio: | Missy began crafting and sewing beside her grandmother at a young age, sometimes cousins too! These hobbies grew into quilting, found object art, and now up cycling with her daughters. Crafting often includes sharing space with teenagers, dog, 4 cats and occasionally a few chickens helping in the garden. Her Halloween wedding proved to be a great opportunity to sew her own wedding dress/costume (bridesmaids too) with her cousin. Go Birds. |
