Serger Workshop: Finish It Up or Start Something New!
Got a serger project that stalled out halfway through? A pattern you’ve been wanting to try but aren’t quite ready to tackle on your own? Bring it to class!
Our next Serger Workshop is all about your project. Join our resident Serger Whisperer, Carol Ragin, for dedicated sewing time with hands-on help right when you need it.
Bring along an unfinished serger project and finally get it across the finish line, tackle another project from our Serger Workshop series that you missed, or start something completely new with Carol nearby to help you troubleshoot, answer questions, work through tricky construction steps, and build your confidence as you sew.
Unlike our project-specific serger workshops, everyone in this session may be working on something different—which makes it a great opportunity to learn not only from your own project, but from what everyone else is making, too.
Skill Level: You should have a basic understanding of how to operate your serger. If your machine is still a mysterious box of knobs, loopers, and thread that you’re afraid to touch, we recommend taking Make Friends With Your Serger first.
BYO SERGER! This is a Bring Your Own Serger workshop. Please bring your serger, power cord/foot pedal, the appropriate thread for your project, and everything you need to work on your chosen project.

| Instructor Bio: | Carol is a lifelong Mt. Airy resident. She has been a sewing instructor in the Philadelphia area for many years. She is educated as a Trained Sewing Educator through the Home Sewing Association and studied Industrial Fashion Methods at Philadelphia University. Her favorite item to sew is garments, but she also enjoys machine embroidery and quilting. Teaching serger classes is her specialty. Follow her sewing adventures on Instagram @ceesews. |
