Zero Waste Series: Singlet Tank Top

What if you could make a garment—and use every bit of your fabric in the process?

Join us for the first workshop in our Zero Waste Patterns series, exploring projects from Zero Waste Patterns by Birgitta Helmersson. We’re kicking things off with the No Waste Singlet, a simple, wearable tank top and a great introduction to an entirely different way of thinking about garment sewing.

Instead of traditional garment patterns that leave scraps behind after cutting, zero-waste patterns use thoughtful cutting, folding, and construction techniques designed to make the most of your fabric. Beth will guide you through laying out and cutting your fabric, understanding the unique construction method, and sewing your singlet together.

Whether zero-waste sewing is completely new to you or you’re an experienced garment sewist curious about a different approach, this workshop is a chance to rethink the relationship between fabric, fit, and construction—and leave with something you can actually wear!

What You Will Learn:

  • How to work with pattern blocks to create a zero-waste garment

  • How to modify pattern blocks for specific fabric widths or for your measurements

Pattern:

Singlet Tank Top from Zero Waste Patterns by Birgitta Helmersson. Ranges from size XS to 6XL (35.5” - 59” hip).
