Serger Workshop: Peppermint Pocket Skirt



Continue developing your serger skills with the Peppermint Pocket Skirt! In this workshop, we’ll sew this relaxed skirt that will leave you with a smile larger than the skirt’ amazing pockets. 

In this class, you’ll:

  • Sew a skirt with a relaxed midi silhouette

  • Practice installing pockets 

  • Work with woven fabrics on a serger

This class is intended for anyone wanting more time with their sergers and garment sewists looking to expand their skills. The pattern is size-inclusive, covering sizes 6-28 (waist size 24” - 47.5”; hip size 34”-57.5”). 

What To Bring: 

  • Your serger in good working order. It is important that you know the basic use of your serger before class.

  • A printed and assembled copy of the Peppermint Pocket Skirt is a "pay what you can" digital download available here.

  • Pre-washed fabric in the correct yardage for your size  – woven cottons and linens are recommended

  • Polyester thread in a coordinating color

  • Elastic for the waistband

  • A list of recommended tools and notions will be sent in advance of the class.

Skill Level: Beginner
Skill Details: You should have a working knowledge of your serger. Please take Make Friends with your Serger if you need to become more comfortable with yours.
Instructor: Carol Ragin
Instructor Bio: Carol is a lifelong Mt. Airy resident. She has been a sewing instructor in the Philadelphia area for many years. She is educated as a Trained Sewing Educator thru the Home Sewing Association and studied Industrial Fashion Methods at Philadelphia University. Her favorite item to sew is garments but also enjoys machine embroidery and quilting. Teaching serger classes is her specialty. Follow her sewing adventures on Instagram @ceesews.
