Sewing for Littles: Pencil Pocket Dress (Kids Sizes 1 - 6)

This charming Pencil Pocket Dress is a perfect blend of simple garment construction and playful details — making it an excellent skill-building project for adventurous beginners. With clean lines, a roomy fit, and optional decorative elements, this class lets you focus on technique while still having fun with customization.
In this workshop, you’ll sew a sleeveless kids’ dress designed for warm weather wear and everyday play. The pattern includes optional iron-on pencil decals that can be added anywhere you like — or skipped entirely — giving you full creative freedom. As with all Sewing for Littles classes, no kids are required; kids’ garments are a smart, low-pressure way to learn garment techniques without complex fitting.
You’ll learn:
- Dress construction basics from start to finish
- Sewing and attaching a functional pocket
- Clean seam finishes for woven garments
- Tips for working with simple embellishments (optional decals)
- Garment skills that easily translate to adult patterns
