Serger Workshop: Wide Leg Trouser

In this hands-on workshop, you’ll sew the Sailor Sue Wide-Leg Palazzo Pants, a relaxed pull-on style with a soft elastic waist and flowing legs — perfect for lounging, layering, or dressing up with your favorite tops.
Whether you’re new to pants or ready to expand your knit sewing skills, this class focuses on techniques that build confidence. Using a serger (and optional twin-needling on your sewing machine), you’ll learn how to construct well-finished knit trousers with a polished look and everyday comfort.
In this class, you’ll:
- Sew a full-length, wide-leg knit pant with an elastic waist
- Practice serger techniques for seams and hems
- Learn how to work with knit fabrics with drape like jersey or cotton-elastane
- Customize fit and length for your personal style
These pants are a great way to build confidence with knits while making something stylish and practical you’ll love wearing again and again.

Please bring your printed pattern to class. It should be assembled and cut out in your size.
Fabric Suggestions: Jersey, cotton-elastane, or any knit with drape — medium weight recommended
Notions:
• Knit-friendly thread
• 1″–1½″ elastic for the waistband

| Requirements: | This is a BYO Serger workshop. We do not have sergers for students to use. Don't forget your plug and pedal! Use the pattern information to determine fabric and notion requirements. |

| Instructor Bio: | Carol is a lifelong Mt. Airy resident. She has been a sewing instructor in the Philadelphia area for many years. She is educated as a Trained Sewing Educator thru the Home Sewing Association and studied Industrial Fashion Methods at Philadelphia University. Her favorite item to sew is garments but also enjoys machine embroidery and quilting. Teaching serger classes is her specialty. Follow her sewing adventures on Instagram @ceesews. |
