Serger Workshop: Peg Leg Leggings

Ready to dip your toes (and legs!) into sewing knits on a serger? In this hands-on workshop, you’ll create your own pair of ultra-comfortable leggings using the beloved Peg Legs pattern from Patterns for Pirates — a free, size-inclusive pattern that fits XXS–Plus 5X.
The Peg Legs are a fan favorite for a reason: they’re simple, flattering, customizable, and perfect for learning to sew with stretch fabrics. Choose from multiple lengths and rises to make leggings that suit your style.
In This Class, You’ll Learn:
- How to cut and handle knit fabrics
- Serger basics: threading, tension, seam construction, troubleshooting
- Assembling leggings with clean, professional serged seams
- Attaching a stretchy waistband with great recovery
- Finishing techniques for hems and edges
You’ll walk away with a finished pair of leggings and the confidence to sew more knit garments on your serger.
Pattern Prep Required
Students must download, print, and assemble the Peg Legs pattern at home before class.

| Instructor Bio: | Carol is a lifelong Mt. Airy resident. She has been a sewing instructor in the Philadelphia area for many years. She is educated as a Trained Sewing Educator thru the Home Sewing Association and studied Industrial Fashion Methods at Philadelphia University. Her favorite item to sew is garments but also enjoys machine embroidery and quilting. Teaching serger classes is her specialty. Follow her sewing adventures on Instagram @ceesews. |
