Guest Instructor: Fabric Pop Fussy Cut Panel

We are delighted to welcome Christina from Fabric Pop! She’ll teach you how to fussy cut your teeniest, cutest scraps into usable squares.  You will leave with a fussy cut panel that you can finish as a wall hanging or incorporate into a future project! (Think wall hangings, framed in embroidery hoops, incorporated into zipper pouches/ bags, added to embellish a garment such as a jacket or sweatshirt, coasters, quilt label… the possibilities are endless!) Christina will bring along lots of samples for inspiration.

Class fee includes:
- a kit with the Fabric Pop teeny tiny acrylic fussy cutting templates
- a sampling of fabrics from Christina’s collection
- gridded fusible interfacing
- a fussy cut scrap pack from Needles & Bolts

We’re even gonna have a fussy cutting swap station! And to top it all off, Christina will have a pop up table with items for purchase to help you continue your fussy cut journey!

To make the panel in class you will:
-select and fussy cut squares from fabric
-press fabric on to gridded interfacing (makes piecing super easy and keeps tiny squares aligned)
-straight line sew

Bonus project!
Christina will also share a quick bonus project with you to up the "swiss cheese" of scraps leftover after fussy cutting to make a fun scrappy panel.

Supplies to bring:
-  Sewing is a short part of class so if you don’t want to bring your own machine, we have machines you can use.
-  You will have your own work table with small wool press mats and mini irons to use.
-  You will want to bring your own small cutting mat and rotary cutter (28mm preferred). If you have a pressing sheet or a small piece of muslin to use to protect the iron, please bring that.

Optional Fussy Cuts Swap
If you’d like, bring scraps of fabric with motifs suitable for fussy cutting to share with the class - not sure if it is fussy-cuttable? Bring it along! You’ll want to bring fabric that you are ok with folks cutting random squares out of. Do not share anything that you don’t want to give away.

Skill Level: Beginner
Skill Details: You should know how to use a ruler and rotary cutter for this workshop.
