Let’s make an Advent Countdown Calendar!
We’ll spend the day using fabric to create pockets for treats and a fusible web for the numbers. Choose holiday-themed fabric or fabric that matches your decor for a year-round calendar!
You'll need to bring or buy the following:
For the background
- 1 yard fabric that will allow your pocket fabrics to pop
- 1 yard SF101 fusible interfacing
For the pockets:
- An assortment of 12-15 fat eighths (9" x 22") or fat quarters (18" x 22") - either of these cuts will provide plenty of fabric to work with. Charm Packs work great for this as well!
- thread to match or contrast with your fabric for topstitching
For the Numbers
- 1 FQ - this should contrast with your assorted fabrics used for the pockets
You'll receive 10% off any supplies purchased for class.
BEFORE CLASS: You will need to cut your fabric into (48) 3-1/2" x 4" rectangles for the pockets - if you are unable to cut 48, come with at least 12 cut. We will work on the first row of pockets in class.
We will provide the following:
- printed pattern
- fusible interfacing with the numbers pre-printed on it
- wooden dowel or stick
- ribbon or twine for hanging
Note: You will not finish this project in class - we will ensure you understand all of the steps to complete it on your own.

| Skill Details: | This is a great starter project for a beginning sewist. You should be comfortable using a sewing machine, including knowing how to sew a quarter-inch seam allowance. NOTE: You will not finish this project in class and will need to finish at home. |
