Embroidery Basics: Sashiko

Come learn the vibrant history of Sashiko while stitching your very own mini panel that can be turned into a wall hanging, coaster, or pincushion. The Japanese word sashiko translates to English as little stabs, a reference made to the simple running stitch employed by repeating or interlocking traditional Japanese geometric patterns, offering a vast creative canvas. We'll explore the ways sashiko can be incorporated into your stitching while working on a mini panel using traditional stitches.

Class kit includes everything you need to create a beautiful Sashiko project including:
- sashiko thread
- 1 pre-printed sashiko fabric mini panel
- 1 sashiko needle
- instructions to take home.

Tools to bring or buy:
- a pair of small scissors or snips
