Capsule Wardrobe 3: Pietra Pants
In the third of our capsule wardrobe workshops, we'll sew the Pietra Pant from Closet Core.
The Pietra Pants are the best of both worlds; a flat front, high-waisted silhouette with the comfort of an elastic waist in the back. Featuring lengthening panels in the front with slanted hip pockets and a hidden waist stay, you'll never want to take them off.
Choose between four leg styles: a wide leg in floor-skimming or cropped length or a slim and tapered leg.
Over four 3-hour sessions, you'll take your measurements, make a muslin toile, and stitch up a pair of well-fitted trousers specifically to your shape. Stitch them in linen, cotton, or poplin for a perfect pair of pants you'll want in every color.
All materials are available in the shop at a 10% discount.
Please Note: In an effort to finish the pant in class, this workshop requires you to come to the first session with your pattern traced & cut out and your muslin cut. If you have attended our previous capsule wardrobe workshops, this is how we start all classes.

Skill Details:
This is an intermediate garment workshop - it is recommended that you have some garment sewing experience as well as experience sewing on a machine. Our Fiore Skirt & Elodie dress workshops are great prerequisites for this class.
Materials Included:
All materials, including the pattern, can be purchased in the shop at a 10% discount. We will be using shop machines for this workshop.

Basic sewing skills
Pietra Pants pattern
Muslin for the toile
1 roll of Swedish Tracing paper
Pins
Marking Pencil
Correct fabric yardage for your size/style
Matching thread (if desired) - white, black, and cream thread available to use at no cost

Beth is an accomplished seamstress, who has taught sewing classes for Mt. Airy Learning Tree. She currently works at the Philadelphia Art Museum and has been doing reproduction sewing & upholstery there since 2005. A patent instructor, she loves walking sewists through the magic of garment construction to help them build their own handmade wardrobes.
