Quilting 101



Join us for an introduction to quilting workshop!
We'll spend four nights creating a lap quilt (57x75) using the Yellow Brick Road pattern and fat quarters.

Week 1: Quilting supplies, fabric selection & prep + sewing accurate seams || Week 2: Cutting and assembling blocks || Week 3: Assembling the quilt top and quilting prep || Week 4: Straight line quilting & binding

By the end of the workshop you'll have a cozy lap quilt to enjoy for many years!

This workshop will have some homework between sessions.

Skill Details:
Must have a working knowledge of a sewing machine. If you would like to take this class but need a sewing machine workshop, sign up for our Make Friends with Your Machine class prior to taking this class.
Materials Included:
Pattern is included along with white, black, or cream colored thread. We will use the class machines for this workshop.
Requirements:
Required: 12 fat quarters, 2 yards of fabric for borders + binding, 3.5 yards of backing fabric, quilt batting, basting safety pins Optional: matching thread to your fabric --- There will be homework between sessions to cut fabric and stitch blocks. You will need to have a rotary cutter, mat, and ruler along with access to an iron/ironing board for homework.

Instructor Bio:
Stella has been quilting since 2006 and has been enabling - we mean inspiring quilters ever since. She has a great eye for color and has been building her toolbox of techniques since creating her first quilt. You can see her work hanging on the walls of the shop. She is an active member of the modern quilting community and has fulfilled her dream of owning a shop filled with beautiful textiles.
