Frequently Asked Questions about our Longarm Service

1. What longarm machine do you use?

We proudly use the Innova M28, a state-of-the-art longarm quilting machine known for its precision and reliability. This powerful machine allows us to create beautiful, consistent stitching across your quilt.

2.  Do you offer longarm rentals or classes?

We do not rent time on our longarm or offer longarm quilting classes. Our goal is to provide a professional quilting service that lets you focus on the creative parts of your quilt while we handle the stitching.

3.  What quilting designs do you offer?

We specialize in edge-to-edge quilting — an all-over pattern that creates a cohesive design from top to bottom. We have a growing library of designs to choose fromand we're happy to help you select one that complements your quilt.

4.  Do you offer custom quilting?

Currently, we focus on edge-to-edge designs to ensure we can provide efficient service to all our customers. If you're looking for detailed custom quilting, we're happy to recommend trusted local quilters who specialize in that style.

5.  How do I prepare my quilt top for longarm quilting?
Before sending in your quilt top, please ensure it is pressed, threads are trimmed, and the edges are straight and secure. We do not trim or square quilt tops before quilting.

6.  Do I need to provide my own batting and backing?
You’re welcome to supply your own batting and backing, or you can purchase them from us. Backing fabric must be at least 8" longer and wider than your quilt top (4" extra on each side).

7. Can I bring my own thread?
No need! Thread is included in the price of our quilting service. We use high-quality quilting thread and will work with you to choose a color that complements your quilt.

8. What is Edge-to-Edge quilting?
Edge-to-Edge (E2E) quilting is an all-over design stitched continuously from one edge of the quilt to the other, regardless of the piecing. It’s a cost-effective way to finish your quilt with a beautiful texture.

9. How long will it take to get my quilt back?
Turnaround time varies based on demand, but most quilts are completed within 2–4 weeks. Rush options may be available for an additional fee.

10. Can I request a specific pattern?

Absolutely. You can choose from our library of designs, or if you don’t see something you love, we’ll help you find or purchase a pattern that better fits your vision (additional fee may apply).

11. How do I calculate the cost of quilting?
Measure your quilt’s length and width in inches. Multiply the two to get the total square inches. Multiply that by the price per square inch.

12. What if my quilt isn’t perfectly flat or square?
We’ll do our best to quilt it beautifully, but fullness, wavy borders, or out-of-square edges can lead to pleats or puckers. We’ll contact you if we notice any significant issues before starting.

13. Will you bind my quilt?
Not yet! We're focused on delivering exceptional longarm quilting services for now, but we may add binding services in the future.

14. Will you trim my quilt?

Yes, for a small fee, we will trim your quilt edges. We can return the trimmings with your quilt or recycle them into dog bed stuffing.

15. Do you have batting recommendations?

We stock Warm & White, Warm & Natural - both cotton batting and Quilter's Dream, which comes in a variety of fibers. Our favorites are those made of natural fibers, offering a lovely loft and quilt beautifully.

16. Can I use a sheet for my quilt backing?
Though we don't recommend a sheet for quilt backing, we will accept ones that are 100% cotton.
