Come take a bookmaking class with artist and fabric designer e bond! Binding your own books is a fun, challenging and addictive adventure and it all starts with a few fundamental skills: cutting, folding, covering, and sewing. Join artist e bond in this intimate class setting to learn & practice basic bookbinding skills while making actual books. In this workshop students will learn how to sew a hand made book from start to finish using orphan quilt blocks as book covers.

Mancuso Show Management celebrates the 31st annual Pennsylvania National Quilt Extravaganza (PNQE), September 12-15, 2024, at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, PA. PNQE will be dishing up all the ingredients needed for a successful quilt show including unique and beautiful displays of quilts and works of textile and wearable art. Plus, as past patrons know, the Pennsylvania National Quilt Extravaganza features an amazing Merchants Mall filled with vendor booths, offering everything quilters and needle crafters need to quench their creative thirsts. This popular event is the largest and most comprehensive quilt festival in a state known for its rich history of quilting.

Do I have to live in Philadelphia to be in the guild? Nope! We have members from Philadelphia, New Jersey, Bucks, Lehigh, Chester and Montgomery Counties and more. Where and when do you meet? We meet on the 3rd Tuesday of the month from 7-9pm in Elkins Park, PA... Just north of Philadelphia. Most meetings are also via ZOOM . We also host sew-ins, lectures/workshops and sewing retreats throughout the year. Can I come to a meeting first, before joining to see if I like it? You bet! Spend the evening with us prepping and making dog beds for local shelters and vets through the Tiny Paws program. We will need help cutting fabric, sewing fabric pieces, cutting scrap fabric, and sewing beds closed. Bring a snack or beverage to share. Made in linen, linen cotton, cotton canvas, or woven cotton, this airy pinafore will keep you cool on the hottest days! Wear it in the winter with a turtleneck and a cardigan or throw a denim jacket on with leggings and you're ready to pick some apples. No need to make a muslin, we'll dive right into the construction of this garment. The price includes written pattern and tracings.

This session is for those taking the Pietra Pant workshop who need additional assistance tracing the pattern and cutting the muslin to be prepared for the first class.

In our Capsule 1 collection we've included the very flattering, perfect for any occasion, Pietra Pant from Closet Core. The Hudson pant is the piece of clothing that you will wear all of the time. It is comfortable enough to wear around the house, but can easily be dressed up to go run errands. Join us for an introduction to quilting workshop! In this 1-day intensive, you'll create a lap quilt (34" x 51") and learn the basics of quilt construction from choosing fabrics to cutting using a rotary cutter, quilter's ruler, and mat. You'll learn to piece a quilt top, sandwich and straight-line quilt your quilt and finish it with binding. We'll even discuss labeling your quilt to officially "sign" your work!

Do you have a serger and are afraid of how to thread it? Want a refresher on serger basics? This is the class for you! Taught by a serger expert, you'll spend two sessions getting to know your serger and how it is a great tool for your sewing projects. Come learn the vibrant history of Sashiko while stitching your very own mini panel that can be turned into a wall hanging, coaster, or pincushion. The Japanese word sashiko translates to English as little stabs, a reference made to the simple running stitch employed by repeating or interlocking traditional Japanese geometric patterns, offering a vast creative canvas.
